在這消息公開沒多久，"變形金鋼"導演麥克貝 (Michael Bay) 跳出來向派拉蒙嗆聲，揚言不會接拍"變形金鋼2"。此外，據紐約時報的報導，派拉蒙與夢工廠收了HD DVD陣營的好處才會決定只出HD DVD。
相信麥克貝這樣講，很多好萊塢的導演反而很高興...
另外，希望麥克貝如果去Sony、福斯、迪士尼拍片時，也會要求Blu-ray跟HD DVD都出。
